Paradynamics is a paramotor manufacturing company located in Dunsandel, Canterbury. We are currently marketing our first production paramotor design called the (P1) Blackbird. Established on a passion for flight, innovation and accessibility, we are obsessed with creating high performance paramotors at an affordable price.
Safety
From the moment we decide to fly, we must make safety our highest priority. Through our commitment to quality design, production and testing, we strive to represent this fundamental reality in our products. Previous experience building experimental aircraft and operating within Commercial Aviation has proven relevant to the disciplines required when designing and testing paramotor designs. We are driven to improve the excepted level of performance of production paramotors without sacrificing safety. Weight reduction on foot launched machines plays an important role in take off safety as does adequate thrust. If you include the engine run-up, around 1/2 half of paramotor accidents occur in the take off phase*. This should be no surprise to any paramotor pilot. Running with the burden of weight, often over uneven ground, all the while trying to inflate a wing over your head and accelerate away from the ground. Paradynamic paramotors offer T/O phase benefits over many conventional designs.
Our production lines are small and our paramotors are hand assembled by a single craftsman (usually the designer and test pilot!) from start to finish so quality assurance is currently under tight control. Design Philosophy
From the the first sketch on the back of a napkin through to the finished product, emphasis has been on design evolution. The modular, bolt together approach to design greatly improves both repairability and upgradeability. We have incorporated a number of innovations into the Blackbird and we have more on the drawing board. We have maximized the potential for future upgrades by standardizing many component modules within our designs. CNC automation has been embraced from the first prototype (in 2013) and enables precise reproduction of complex profiles whilst avoiding high labour costs. Many hundreds of hours have been invested in designing to the potential of modern production technology and has resulted in affordable, consistent precision. Adding simplicity is an ideal aspiration of any good design engineer. Form follows function and if additional weight or complexity isn't justified, it has no place on a paramotor. We at Paradynamics are aware that some technologies are simply unnecessary gimmicks and the difference is marketing. This reality hardens our resolve to only incorporate innovation that has proven itself. That is to say that our heads may be in the clouds but our feet are well grounded. |
